Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) set a new record in the history of the English Premier League (EPL).

Salah led Liverpool to a 2-0 victory with 1 goal and 1 assist in an away EPL match against Manchester City for the 2024-2025 season at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, England on the 24th (GMT+9).
In the 14th minute of the first half, Salah scored the opening goal with a left-footed shot after receiving a pass from Dominik Szoboszlai, and then in the 37th minute of the first half, he assisted Szoboszlai's additional goal, greatly contributing to the team's victory.

With this match, Salah has maintained his league-leading position in both goals and assists with 25 goals and 16 assists in the league this season alone. Additionally, Salah has surpassed 40 attacking points in a single season for the second time in his career, following the 2017-2018 season (32 goals, 10 assists). According to the EPL official website, Salah is the first player to record over 40 attacking points in a single season twice. Moreover, he is the first player in EPL history to achieve both 25+ goals and 15+ assists in a single season.
Not only that, Salah became the first player in EPL history to record both a goal and an assist in both matches against the defending champions in a single season. In their first encounter with Manchester City at home last December, he also recorded one goal and one assist, leading the team to a 2-0 victory.

Thanks to Salah's performance, Liverpool currently has a record of 19 wins, 7 draws, and 1 loss (64 points), leading the league. This record increases the possibility of their second Premier League title since its establishment.
